Being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS rewrites women’s lives. The feelings that overwhelm them refuse to fade away. Fatalism creeps in. Fear of rejection, stigma, discrimination and harassment prevents them from disclosing their status. This then is the darkness we seek to dispel. In fact, all our dreams, hopes and work are aimed at overcoming these challenges and creating better lives for women living with HIV/AIDS. Positive Women Network is an organization formed by women living with HIV/AIDS (WLHA) in October 1998 to address the need for a support system and to improve the quality of life of women living with HIV and their children in India. |
